About this tool

Screenshots can expose names, addresses, QR codes and notifications as well as faces. Match the region shape to the content, use solid cover for sensitive text and inspect the exported copy closely.

How to use

Redact faces and private details — Redact faces and private details online

Redact faces, number plates, IDs, addresses, QR codes, and screen details locally in batches with rectangles, ellipses, a brush, reviewable face suggestions, solid cover, pixelation, and blur.

Check the copy before sharing. PNG suits screenshots and text; solid cover replaces the marked pixels. Inspect faces, names, addresses, QR codes, notifications and reflections. Confirm face suggestions and mark anything missed manually. Review the processed copy at full size, including small text and the edges of every region. Export also removes EXIF/GPS metadata.

More than a face-blur tool

Sensitive content in photos and screenshots includes faces, number plates, staff IDs, addresses, phone numbers, QR codes, signatures, messages, and screens. Rectangles suit text and documents, ellipses follow faces, and the brush covers irregular edges.

Face detection suggests; you decide

On-device detection can scan the current image or a selected batch. Every result remains a suggestion until you confirm, adjust, or remove it. Side profiles, occluded faces, and small faces can be missed, so review every image and add manual regions where needed.

Solid cover, pixelation, or blur

Solid cover replaces pixels and is the appropriate choice for ID numbers, addresses, and QR codes. Pixelation and blur look less intrusive but can preserve shapes or be partly reversed, so they are not an absolute privacy guarantee. Each region keeps its own method, strength, and colour.

Local processing and safe copies

Your images are not uploaded. Export creates a flattened JPG, PNG, or WebP and removes EXIF and GPS metadata while leaving originals untouched. Batch results report region counts, sources, and methods for a final audit.

Results and next steps

Each selected source produces one result card with preview, pixel dimensions, format, and size. Download one file, selected files, or the complete ZIP.

Common questions

Should I blur or use a solid cover for ID numbers and QR codes?

Use a solid region that fully covers the content and its edges. It replaces source pixels in the exported copy. Blur and pixelation may retain recognisable shapes; inspect edges, reflections and overlooked details after saving.

Why must detected faces be confirmed?

Detection proposes regions and can miss profiles, small faces or obscured faces, or select the wrong area. Only confirmed regions are exported. Add rectangles, ellipses or brush regions manually for anything missed.

Why is batch export blocked after I have drawn a cover?

Check for unconfirmed face candidates, selected images without confirmed regions, or images still awaiting review. Confirm or add the missing covers and review them. Deselect files outside this task and verify the processing scope.
