How to use it

Inspect format, dimensions, capture time, device, GPS, and privacy warnings first; switch to Remove metadata only when you need a clean sharing copy. Inspect mode never edits the file, while removal re-encodes a separate result.

Inspect mode returns a metadata report; Remove mode also creates a cleaned image copy while preserving the original.

Common questions

Can removing metadata affect quality or animation?

Cleaning re-encodes decoded pixels as a separate image, which may change size and lossy-format quality. A GIF becomes a still image. Inspection does not change bytes; keep the original if you need its animation or exact encoding.

Does no GPS detected mean a photo is safe to share?

Not by itself. The report covers fields the current parser can read. Addresses, faces, number plates or screen content may still be visible in the picture, so inspect and redact the image itself when needed.

How can I inspect capture information without recompressing the image?

Keep inspection mode after selecting the image; it reads automatically, and JSON download saves only the report. Choosing metadata removal and exporting creates a re-encoded image. Keep the original and cleaned copy clearly separated.
