No. Images keep their dimensions at the top left of cells sized for the largest source, so unused space is possible. Export includes PNG, JSON coordinates and CSS positions. This is a grid, not tight packing with transparent-edge trimming.
It supplies sprite dimensions and background positions. Add the sheet’s background-image URL and an appropriate display mode in your page. Keep PNG, JSON and CSS from the same export; replace them together after changing columns or gaps.
Set the queue order before choosing columns and gaps. Positions are numbered from that current order, so adding, removing or moving images can shift later coordinates. Never pair an old map with a newly generated sheet.
