Generate BlurHash, ThumbHash and a tiny preview, then copy the strings or download the small image and hash data. Keep a separate record of the source aspect ratio to reserve space in your layout. Placeholders do not replace meaningful alt text.

Common questions

Can I use a BlurHash or ThumbHash string as an image URL?

No. Render it with the corresponding front-end decoder, or use the exported tiny image instead. Reserve the correct aspect ratio for the original and keep meaningful alt text; a placeholder does not replace the full image.

Do I need BlurHash, ThumbHash and the tiny image together?

No. Choose a hash supported by your rendering component, or use the tiny WebP without adding a hash decoder. They are alternative placeholders for the same image, not three full-image quality levels.
