How to use
Paste text, enter what to find and type the replacement. Leave the replacement empty to delete matches. Enable case matching or whole-word matching as needed; the output updates automatically.
Search and replacement are literal strings, so characters such as . and $1 are not interpreted as expressions. Whole-word boundaries recognize Unicode letters and digits. Use the regular expression tester for regex replacements. Input limit: 2 MiB; search and replacement: 10,000 UTF-8 bytes each; output: 8 MiB.
Common questions
Are $1 and regex symbols interpreted?
No. Search and replacement are literal text. An empty replacement deletes matches; whole-word matching uses Unicode letter, mark and number boundaries.
Why does whole-word search for cat skip catalog and cat_id?
Whole-word mode rejects a match next to a Unicode letter, combining mark, number or underscore. Turn it off to replace text inside larger words or identifiers. Case sensitivity is a separate option; check it when Cat and cat should remain distinct.
