Add PDF page numbers and text watermarks

Stamp one PDF or a batch with page numbers and a multilingual text watermark, with page ranges, positioning and real output previews.

Add page numbers, a text watermark, or both. Check the actual PDF before downloading.

Settings

Leave blank for all pages. Numbering follows document order and restarts in each file; unselected pages stay unchanged.

Watermarks are removable overlays, not redaction. Original text and images remain. Editing invalidates digital signatures; keep the original.

    Preview

Zooming and rotating affect the preview only. Exported files stay unchanged.

Files stay in this browser. No upload or input storage. Password-protected PDFs are not supported. Processing stops after 90 seconds and can be cancelled. The example has one text page and one intentionally blank page.

Processed in this browser. Nothing is uploaded or saved.

    About this tool

Stamp one PDF or a batch with page numbers and a multilingual text watermark, with page ranges, positioning and real output previews.

    How to use

Add one or more PDFs. Enable numbering, a watermark, or both; select the affected pages and inspect the generated PDF with the page navigator. Numbering follows the original page order, starts at your chosen number and restarts for each file. In the total format, the denominator is the last assigned number. The same settings and page range apply to every file. Download an individual result or the batch ZIP. Original pages remain intact beneath the overlays; a watermark does not remove private information. Keep signed originals, since changing a PDF invalidates its digital signatures.

    Common questions

How do ranges and a custom starting number interact?

Selected pages are numbered in their original document order, even if the range is entered backwards. Numbering restarts in each PDF. The total format uses the final assigned number as the denominator; unselected pages are unchanged.

Does a watermark protect or remove sensitive content?

No. It adds an overlay that can be removed; the original text and images remain. It is not redaction, encryption or an access restriction. PDF edits can invalidate digital signatures, so retain the signed original.

Can the watermark contain Chinese, Japanese or accented letters?

Yes, when those characters are available in your browser’s local fonts. The watermark is rendered as a transparent image while original pages stay intact. Check the preview for missing glyphs. Use one line, up to 100 characters; this does not embed a searchable watermark text layer.

Do all PDFs in a batch use the same settings?

Yes. The page range and stamp settings apply to each file, and an out-of-range page prevents export until corrected. Limits are 40 files, 64 MiB per PDF, 128 MiB input, 2,000 pages and 128 MiB output. Processing is local and cancellable.
