How to use
Open an XLSX, XLS, CSV or TSV file. Choose a worksheet for Excel files; for CSV, adjust the encoding or separator if the columns or characters look wrong. Import and option changes update the preview automatically. The first row is treated as a header unless you switch that option off.
For a customer list, select the customer ID and email columns, then enable duplicate removal. Rows are compared using the selected columns, including case and spaces, and the first occurrence is kept. Trimming spaces is a separate choice. Blank-row removal also uses the selected columns. The preview shows 25 rows per page; downloads include the entire cleaned worksheet.
Displayed values become text: a code formatted as 00123 stays 00123 in XLSX. Built-in short dates are written as yyyy-mm-dd. Formulas use their saved results and are never recalculated. If a result is missing, open the original in Excel or LibreOffice, recalculate and save it first. Exports omit formulas, macros, styling, charts and links; merged cells keep their top-left value only.
CSV exports use UTF-8, with an optional BOM and formula protection. Spreadsheet apps can still guess types when opening CSV, so choose XLSX for identifiers with leading zeros. Processing stays in your browser. Limits: 10 MiB per file, 40 MiB expanded XLSX, 10,000 rows, 200 columns and 250,000 cells per worksheet; 32,767 characters per cell and 20 MiB of text or CSV output. XLSX output is limited to 40 MiB. Oversized input is rejected, not truncated.
Common questions
How do I keep leading zeros in product codes?
The tool reads displayed values as text, so a formatted code such as 00123 stays intact. Download XLSX to keep text cell types. CSV has no type information: Excel may remove zeros when opening it. Zeros already lost in the original file cannot be recovered.
Will formulas and workbook formatting survive?
Exports contain displayed text only. Saved formula results are used without recalculation; missing results block export. Macros, formulas, charts, links and styling are omitted. Merged ranges keep only the top-left value, and built-in short dates use yyyy-mm-dd.
Which rows count as duplicates?
Only the selected output columns are compared. Comparison is case-sensitive and includes spaces unless trimming is enabled. The first occurrence is kept; a header is excluded. Blank-row removal also checks the selected columns, so review the preview after deselecting columns.
What are the size limits, and is the file uploaded?
Files stay in your browser. The limit is 10 MiB per file and 40 MiB expanded XLSX, with at most 300 archive entries and 100 worksheets. A worksheet may contain 10,000 rows, 200 columns and 250,000 cells. Cells are limited to 32,767 characters, text/CSV to 20 MiB and XLSX output to 40 MiB. Processing can be cancelled.
