Use A for IPv4 addresses, AAAA for IPv6, MX for mail servers and TXT for text records such as verification entries. PTR accepts an IP address for a reverse lookup. Enter the DNS name itself, without https:// or a path; querying a record does not test the service behind it.
Not necessarily. NOERROR with no answer can mean that this name has no record of the requested type; NXDOMAIN reports a nonexistent name. Check the type and spelling, then compare resolvers if needed. TTL is the returned cache lifetime in seconds, not a promise that every resolver updates immediately.
