About this tool
Check dimensions before resizing to avoid distortion. A 1920 × 1080 frame has a 16:9 ratio; at 1280 pixels wide, its proportional height is 720.
How to use
Enter the original dimensions or pick a common ratio, then specify the target width or height. The result shows the reduced ratio and the proportional output dimensions.
Inputs are positive integers from 1 to 1,000,000,000. The calculated dimension rounds to the nearest integer. This calculates dimensions without changing a file; use the image resize tool to resize actual images.
Common questions
Does the calculator resize my image file?
No. It calculates dimensions and rounds the other side to a whole number. Use the image resize tool to modify an actual file, then check its exported pixel dimensions.
Can I start from a ratio instead of file dimensions?
Yes. Enter 16 and 9, select a target width of 1280 and obtain 1280 × 720. Use positive whole numbers; choose target height when that is the dimension you already know.
